Kentucky Hotel

The Kentucky Hotel was located on St. Patrick’s Road, Hatfield. The hotel was best known for the Padded Cell (a lunch and dinner a la carte restaurant) and their inexpensive “business man’s lunch.” It appears to have been established c.1967.

Meikles Southern Sun Hotels (Pvt) Ltd

Meikles Southern Sun Hotels (Pvt) Ltd The business was located in the Travel Centre, Stanley Avenue, Salisbury.

In 1971, a separate hotel company was formed in which all the existing Meikles hotels were grouped. Investment was developed by the expansion, building and modernising of the hotels.

In 1975 a mammoth joint venture under Meikles management was formed with the large Southern Sun hotel and casino group. This venture became Meikles Southern Sun Hotels.
