Survey Department
The function of the Survey Department was to control the surveys of farming areas.
In 1901 the Survey Department became known as the Department of lands and a Secretary for lands and agriculture was appointed.
In October, 1923, the Lands Department, together with the Survey Department, was placed under the direction of the Minstry of Agriculture and Lands who was charged with the administration of the Acts relating to Survey, Alienation, Occupation and Management of Crown Lands.
