1903
The Education Ordinance of 1903 granted to Mission schools among other things:
- At least 40 pupils attended school on 150 days of four hours daily during the year
- Industrial work was systematically taught
- The pupils were taught to speak and understand the English language, and
- Instruction was carried on in a satisfactory manner.
The amount of the grant depending on the efficiency of the school would not exceed £125 per annum. In 1914, the Administration increased the maximum amount per annum to £200.
