Southern Rhodesia Publicity Bureau


The Southern Rhodesia Publicity Bureau was established in 1928 by the Government, in conjunction with the Rhodesia Railways. It promoted a number of district publicity associations including Bulawayo & District Publicity Association, Salisbury & District Publicity Association and Umtali & District Publicity Association. They had a branch in Johannesburg and the High Commissioner’s Office in London.


The first publicity conference was held January, 1930 in Bulawayo under the chairmanship of the colonial secretary.
