The Shell Company of Rhodesia Ltd was a marketing member of the Royal Dutch Shell Group, originally obtaining its supplies from Iran and shipping from Abadan in the Persian Gulf. Fuel oil was sourced from the Dutch East Indies and also Iran. Additionally, the company also supplied bitumen from Egypt, lubricating oils and greases, power and illuminating paraffin.

The head office was based in Cape Town, South Africa with a number of branches through Central Africa. It appears The Shell Company of Rhodesia Ltd entered voluntary administration in 1964.

After this time, Shell Rhodesia (PVT) Ltd took over operations.
