Scotch Stores in Bulawayo was run by William Archibald McCalman (b.1869, Scotland). McCalman was a wholesale and retail grocer and a wine and spirit merchant.
Scotch Stores incorporated the liquor business of The Bechuanaland Trading Association Ltd (BTA). BTA operated a large scale enterprise with interests outside Bechuanaland and was linked to the British South Africa Company in Southern and North-Western Rhodesia.
He died 13th November, 1924 of influenza.
