Amalgamated Properties of Rhodesia Ltd was registered in 8 May 1909. It acquired the undertakings of:
- Lomagunda Development Co Ltd
- West Rhodesian Banket Co Ltd
- Gold Fields of Matabeleland Ltd
- Rhodesia Matabeleland Development Co Ltd
- Bulawayo Estate and Trust Co Ltd
- Napier and Weir Ltd
- Gwanda Railway Syndicate Ltd
- Clarks Consolidated Ltd
- British and Colonial Investments Ltd (certain properties only)
- Rhodesian Mining and Finance Co Ltd
- C Acton Dodds.
The assets that were overtaken include 1,526,386 acres of land in Rhodesia, 3741 mining claims, 101 town stands, an interest in Sauer’s buildings in Johannesburg, sundry interests in Transvaal and other share interests.
The company went into voluntary administration 29 July 1913 and reconstructed as Amalgamated Properties of Rhodesia (1913) Ltd. Shareholders were entitled to 1 new share of 4s. in the new company for each share of 5s held. The final meeting was registered 22 February 1918.
