African Book Centre

African Book Centre

The African Book Centre was created in 1949 as an agency of the Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland Publications Bureau, distributing and selling publications of the bureau. It operated from a base in Limbe with branches in Blanytre, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzimba and agencies throughout the country.

In 1964 the African Book Centre became the Malawi Book Service and became the central supplier of books, stationery, furniture, visual aids, and other educational materials required in schools and other educational establishments and by other retailers of such supplies.
