19th ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 21st and 22nd April 2007

For a report on the conference see the forum Conference Report

There is also a report on Dave Morton's Exhibit in the Admirals Section: Conference April 2007

The following note was issued prior to the 2007 conference and will be updated shortly.

The programme details are presently being finalised for our forthcoming Conference at the Falstaff Hotel, 16-20 Warwick New Road, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV32 5JQ. Telephone 01926 312044, falstaff@meridianleisure.com

Saturday morning will be devoted to the 'Admirals' with some great material, including, from South Africa, Dave Morton's award-winning display.

This will be followed by other notable displays focusing on current thinking and study in the 'Admirals' area.

On Saturday afternoon some wonderful Airmail material covering all three territories will be on show.

At 4.00pm we will hold our AGM.

Afterwards, there will be a small 'Conference' auction before the evening dinner.

(Geoff Brakspear will run the auction. It would be helpful if you could please let him or myself know if you want to put any items into the auction).

Given the diversity and commitment we have seen in recent years, Sunday's Members' Displays may well outshine Saturday's. We are confident that a splendid array of Rhodesian and Nyasaland material will be on view. Please let Mark Thomas know if you want to put up a display on Sunday 22nd as we would like to articulate the displays to the best possible effect. We appreciate that, already, some hard work will be going into these displays.

(Displays should be organised with the thought of two frames that will hold either 18 or 24 sheets depending on how you set them out: 3x3 or 4x3).

Please plan to show no more than 24 sheets. Each display can be introduced with a short talk, but these talks should be kept to 10 minutes or less.

The Conference Organiser will need to be informed beforehand of any exceptions. There are two Conference Competitions, one for stamps and one for postal history).

Please let Mark Thomas know if you will be attending the RSC Conference. If you are staying at the Falstaff Hotel, please let him know to book you in for both Friday and Saturday nights or just Saturday and also say if you have any special needs or requests regarding the weekend - vegetarian meals, etc.

Although the Conference starts properly on Saturday morning, most people seem to like arriving about teatime on Friday which gives them an evening to meet old and new friends. It is normally a very cordial evening with much horse-trading of information.
